Club StrongHeart

Club StrongHeart is a program for children 6 to 15 years old with weight-related health concerns. It will run each Tuesday night from May 26 through June 30 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.at the YMCA in Kannapolis. Each program will consist of a healthy meal, hands-on education regarding nutrition and fitness, and non-competitive fitness activities. The parents attend and participate in all activities with the children. Humor and fun are a large component of the program. Devotions at each session help children develop a healthy self image by seeing themselves through God's eyes rather than the eyes of the world. The program is led by pediatrician Steve O'Brien, Susan Pollack RN, and James Simpson (Certified trainer). There is no cost to participate. Register by May 19 through AskFirst at 704-403-1725.

Lights....Camera......Worship!

Lights... Camera... Worship! There are many people who work behind the scenes every week to ensure that we have a great worship experience at Crossroads. The Media Team is always looking for people who have a passion for serving behind the scenes in the areas of sound, lighting, video, and stage production. Here are some examples of where you can get plugged in.

Lighting Operator- Design and control lighting scenes during the worship service.

Camera Operator- Be a part of the video team by running a camera during Sunday morning services. This is a great way to get involved in the media team and requires little experience to start out.

Graphics Operator (Kannapolis)- The Graphics Operator is responsible for playing back all media that is seen on screen during the service. This includes song lyrics, video, and sermon notes. Some computer experience is helpful in this position as well as being familiar with praise and worship songs.

Contact Anthony West at (704)707-1167 or at
anthony@xroadschurch.us for more information on how you can be a part of this exciting ministry.

Denise Nelson - Medical Mission Trip

Denise Nelson is going to the Dominican Republic on a Medical mission trip from April 27-May 4. When she returns on May 4, she is bringing a child (Miguelito) and his mother (Dileny) back with her. Miguelito Baez is an 8 year old boy that has been granted a Medical Visa in order that Dr. Hoover from CMC-Northeast can operate. Miguelito was born with Hirschsrpung's disease or Congenital Megacolon. He has undergone 10 surgeries and cannot be helped in his own country. An organization from Texas helped with paperwork, but will no longer be involved in case once child arrives in US territory. The surgery date will be scheduled after Dr. Hoover sees him. Please cover Miguelito in prayer for traveling mercies and that every detail of his health care and surgery goes well so that he can experience complete healing. Please pray for God's blessings on Dr. Hoover for agreeing to do the surgery for free, and on Denise and her family as they open their home to this child and his Mom. If you would like more information about this child's needs, please call Denise C. Nelson at 704 597-1397 or email DCN4God@aol.com. Some needs are: A good pair of shoes, clothes and underwear (she will have sizes after he arrives), visit him at the hospital, and money for food. Miguelito comes from the mountains of the Dominican Republic and has never left the island.
