Bible Study Reading Program for 2010

Bible Study Reading Program for 2010

We are offering 2 Bible Reading plans for 2010:
(1) Read the New Testament in One Year
(2) Read the Old and New Testaments in One Year

These Bible reading plans can be downloaded on www.xroadschurch.us or you can pick one up at a table at Crossroads this Sunday located at each of the church exits.

Plan (1) Read the New Testament in One Year - is the same plan we handed out last year. If you weren’t able to complete it, you can begin the new year fresh with a commitment to read the New Testament. If you have already read it, you can read it again for fresh new insights from the Holy Spirit.

Plan (2) Read the Old and New Testaments in One Year - will take you through the entire Bible in one year. This is a more challenging Bible study plan but is a great way to get the breadth and depth of the entire Bible.

May God bless you and equip you this year through His Word in all areas of your life!

We Celebrate God's Goodness to us at Crossroads Church in 2009

2009 has been a wonderful year at Crossroads. This year we have seen hundreds and even thousands of people give their life to Christ through local ministries and ministries around the world.
We had church wide participation in the 20-20-20 Journal.
Community Life Night, Wednesday night program, started in the fall. This night provided dinner, a program for youth & adults, choir for the kids, and small groups. There were around 200 people each week.
We held 2 Connection Fairs this year. There were over 400 connections where people had the opportunity to serve or be served.
The Crossroads Café (Coffeehouse) will open in January 2010. Many people have been dedicated to making this outreach opportunity possible.
139 people came to the Taste of Crossroads, 95 people joined the church, and 24 people were baptized.
Our average weekly attendance also blossomed from 1218 to 1285 so far this year.
The Christmas Spectacular sold out with 3,000 attending 8 performances. 2 nights were dedicated to hosting 600 residents from assisted living, homes for substance abuse, unwed mothers and the homeless.
Men’s Second Mondays. Completed the 2nd year of this men’s event with an average attendance of 55 men each night. Vans picked up men from Rebound Men’s Ministry and to the Samaritan’s House men’s shelter so they could attend.
One Heart Women’s Ministries. 173 women participated in weekly bible studies. In the spring, a retreat was held in the mountains with 100 women attending. Women did outreach to Morningside Assisted Living, held monthly birthday parties for the children at The Children’s Home (orphanage in Kannapolis), sent gift bags for new Moms through the Mothering Ministry, and gave comfort to grieving people through Healing Stitches (prayer shawl ministry).
Student Ministries – 115 high school and middle school students were involved in Small groups. 60 students went to 3 continents this past summer for a total of 22,896 man hours of missions. Shout raised $7,000 through 30 hour famine for World Hunger, and volunteered to feed and assist the homeless in Concord and Charlotte.
College and Career Ministry (BASIC) was launched this year with about 30 young men and women. They connect with 4-600 students from 15 different churches and various denominations weekly through Charlotte One. BASIC meets for Bible studies weekly and is also actively involved in Cooperative Christian ministries and Family Promise.
Our Kids First Children’s Ministry sponsored four Christ-centered (5-day) camps from July 6-31 for rising 2nd thru 7th grades that included football, basketball, worship and Spanish camps. (Continued below)

Missions and Outreach
There were 8 international short – term trips to Puerto Rico (2 teams), Mexico, SouthAfrica, Brazil, Ethiopia, The Dominican Republic and Kenya., 2 trips in the United States: Our student choir team went to Peytona, West Virginia and a Middle School Mission Trip to the North Carolina mountains.
Locally, we stepped up our effort in this economy and gave financial assistance to over 200 families in 2009. We supplied Christmas gifts to 40 families through Cooperative Christian Ministry and for all the foster children in Cabarrus County, and held a party for the children and their foster families.
In addition in 2009 we also:
Began a partnership with Family Promise with 8 other churches in Cabarrus County. Through this ministry, we house homeless families for one week every other month.
Began a partnership with Trinity UMC in Kannapolis by serving dinner there one Wednesday a month for “God’s Supper Table”.
Had 60 volunteers assist Kerr Street UMC with serving and delivering meals on Thanksgiving Day to the needy in our community.
Continued our partnership with Charlotte Rescue Mission by sending monthly support, sending a van every Sunday morning to pick up guys to attend church, and sending a worship/prayer team the 4th Tuesday of every month to lead a service at the Mission.
Provided meals and check-in volunteers for Samaritan’s House Night Shelter for one week each quarter.
We have been supporting Bethesda Health Center (free medical clinic in Charlotte) Grace and Mercy House in Salisbury, CVAN, Cooperative Christian Ministry, and Operation Christmas Child.
This fall, we also commissioned a Task Force to restructure our church. We believe this laborious process will pay dividends into being simpler, more focused and more intentional in connecting people to God and to each other, in developing disciples and in unleashing people into mission and ministry.
We are truly a seven-day-a-week church with ministries happening continually in the areas of discipleship, restoration, fellowship and evangelism, for people of all ages, genders, and walks of life. Our ministries are truly too numerous to enumerate for these purposes. Suffice it to say we are making a difference for the people of our church and for the people of our community. We are grateful for everyone who is a part of our Crossroads Family and we look forward to all that the Lord holds in store for us in 2010!
