Congratulations!

Joe & Lori Eaton are the proud parents of Adam Joseph Eaton, born on Oct 8 weighing 7 lbs, 5 oz and 21" long. The baby is healthy and they are doing well.

Men's Outdoor Adventure




When: Friday, Oct 16 @ 5:30 pm – Sunday, Oct 18 @ 4 pm
Where: Meet at Crossroads Church; Group will travel to Stone Mountain State Park
Transportation: The Group will leave the church Friday Night at 5:30 pm and will return back Sunday at 4 pm. Men must ride with the group due to parking limitations.
Cost: $36 (this includes: 5 meals, tents & camping gear, transportation, instruction & guide services for rock climbing) Please plan to bring your own sleeping bag.
Registration Deadline: Sunday, Oct 11

Join us for a fun and interactive evening in the kitchen with Chef Patty from Cook At Home. This Hobby Connect evening is designed for anyone who loves to cook – or would like to learn how to cook!
By the time you leave this cooking class you will have learned:
How to make low-fat chicken broth once and then be able to make other tasty and satisfying fall soups like: Chicken Soup, Sweet Potato Soup, and Pumpkin Bisque
How to sweat and blanch vegetables (as well as other nifty things)
Make a Mirepoix and Roux
Make and take home: A sachet d’ epices
Many recipes to create soups in your own kitchen
Date: Monday - October 26th
Time: 7:00pm – 8:30pm

Preschool Happenings


STARS Preschool will be collecting can goods for CCM this month. Please leave items in boxes outside the classrooms on the 100 Hallway

We will be sponsoring a Book Fair the week of October 19-23, from 8:45am-2:30pm. We will have a special Family Night on Tuesday, October 20, from 5-7pm. Everyone is invited!

We are also collecting loose change during
the book fair. This money goes to One For Books. Not only does the preschool benefit by having money to purchase more books but Scholastic matches our donations and donates up to one million books to non-profit organizations dedicated to helping kids and families in need. :

Coffee House News.......

Work is beginning in the banquet room this Saturday morning (Oct 10) to transform it to the Coffee House. The room will be closed off for use until the project is completed

The Carolina Christmas Spectacular

Tickets for this year’s Carolina Christmas Spectacular will go on sale now! Tickets may be purchased weekly Monday-Friday at the Church Office from 9:00am-4:30pm while they last. Those purchasing tickets through the Church Box Office must do so in person using cash or check. Tickets may also be purchased online anytime at thespectacular.org. All major credit cards are accepted for online purchases.This year’s show is yet again another brand new show presented in Dinner Theater format featuring music, dance, comedy, drama, interpretive movement, and special effects, with a live band and orchestra. The goal of the show is outreach, life impact and transformation, and promises to deliver high quality entertainment value as well.

Second Blessing Clothing Closet

Second Blessings Clothing Closet at Forest Hill United Methodist Church is in need of winter coats in any size. They give gently used clothes and baby items to adults and children who are in need. They also need hangers of any style or size.

Candy donations needed for Autumn Fest


Please donate a bag (or two) of candy for this years Autumn Fest held on October 31. Containers will be placed in the hallway by the pre-school/nursery and in the NextGen Wing welcome desk area.

In sympathy

Please pray for comfort and strength for Rosolena Conroy and her family due to the death of her sister recently. Rosolena is flying home today after spending time with her family this past week. Her sister leaves behind a husband and 5 children. Rosolena said he is a great Dad and they will be OK, but she especially asks for prayer for her Mom.



Please pray for comfort and strength for Mike Messick and his family due to the death of his Mother on Oct 2.

Healing Stitches - Prayer Shawl - Date and Room Change

Come and join us, whether you know how to knit or crochet, or not! New people are always welcome. No Experience necessary. We will teach anyone interested in learning. We have extra needles and yarn available for visitors and guests to use. This is an excellent opportunity to find out what the Prayer Shawl Ministry is all about. Come and join us for a time of prayer, fellowship, sharing & learning. We look forward to seeing you on the second Monday of every month.
