Giving Tree Outreach

Giving Tree Outreach for Cabarrus County Foster Children, Children from the ARC and Families in Need from our Community Christmas trees filled with tags will be in the front lobby and the NexGen lobby beginning Nov 22.
If you would like to bless someone, please choose a tag, purchase the suggested gift, and return it to the church by Dec 13. Please do not wrap the gifts. Put them in a bag with the tag attached and leave them in the missions area or in the NexGen lobby. Gift cards should be dropped off in the Church Office (or though the office door slot on Sundays.) We are getting the names through Cooperative Christian Ministry, the ARC of Cabarrus County and Department of Social Services.
For more information about helping with the sorting of gifts and gift distribution, please contact Nancy Friend at nancy@xroadschurch.us.

Kerr Street UMC Community Thanksgiving Dinner

Kerr Street UMC Community Thanksgiving Dinner

Kerr Street UMC Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Nov 26 – They plan to provide 700 free meals to those in need in Concord and Cabarrus County. Their greatest need for volunteers will be between 8:00 am and noon. They need people to serve meals in the dining room and to help direct people and cars. You don’t have to work the entire duration, but even a short time here will be greatly appreciated. You can also sign up to serve in the following areas:
· Cooking turkeys: The turkeys have been donated, but we need individuals to cook them at home and bring them to the church. Turkeys, pans, and cooking directions will be distributed on the Sunday before Thanksgiving and we would like the cooked turkeys back to Kerr Street UMC on Wednesday.
· Donating desserts The preferred dessert is pound cake. We would like them at the church on Wednesday
· Delivering meals: We will need drivers beginning at 9:30 am to deliver meals to those who can’t come to the church. You are welcomed and encouraged to have two people (or more) for each car. You will have the time to talk and pray with the recipients of the meals. Most drivers will only need to make one or two trips with multiple deliveries that are close together. You will be given directions as well as addresses so even the “directionally-challenged” can participate.
Please contact Nancy in the Crossroads Church office and tell her how you would like to serve atnancy@xroadschurch.us or 704-707-1150 and she will pass the information on to Kerr Street UMC.
